The Adventures of Longhead Boy


The Adventures of Longhead Boy is the result of smashing together a few ideas that each couldn’t work without being part of a larger bit. I was most proud of this short’s sense of timing and pacing.

The 3D animation was created in Cinema 4D with the goal of emulating a stop-motion “claymation” look with an environment that looked hand crafted, while the 2D animation was created using a mixture of FlipaClip and Procreate.

While working to complete this project, I set a self-imposed deadline to keep production on task. To meet the deadline, I mapped out several rendering tricks that took advantage of the short’s intentionally low frame-rate to optimize and save several day’s worth of time.
